“Sublimity in Turquoise Blue” now featured at Farrago’s Wainscot: Issue 12

Farrago's Wainscot

Now featured at Farrago’s Wainscot is my Mexi-experimental short story, ”Sublimity in Turquoise Blue.” I’m so honored to be among such talented authors: Becca De La Rosa, Paul Jessup, Eden Robins, S. Boyd Taylor and Jonathan Wood. Here is a short excerpt:

“Sublimity in Turquoise Blue”

To the artist, sublimity is a rare gift, so it is one not to be wasted. For this reason, never leave an artist alone gazing into the face of death. The artist will likely fall in love . . . .

Thanks to Darin Bradley, Berrien Henderson and the Farrago staff et al. for their hard work and dediction in getting this issue out.

  • Excellent short story!

Again, so sad that this is the last issue. But I see you’ve got stuff coming up in some other mags I’ve subscribed to/read online :)

  • Thanks, and right back at you!

I know, Farrago’s is such an excellent venue.

Loved it! So cool to read your work. I assume this came out of your recent trip? Thanks for sharing this!

  • Thanks. Yes, the setting did. The waves were super fierce, which we were told was abnormal for the area. They’d undergone a hurricane not too long ago, and so the ocean floor had taken to forming big waves. I couldn’t help but imagine what their effect might be upon a visual artist such as a painter. Chichen Itza was fantastic!

Finally had a chance to read it. Congratulations! It’s exciting to see the changes you made since the summer.

Are you still working on clackety track too?

  • Yes, I’m still working on “Clackety Track.” “Sublimity” is actually the original short story with only a few changes from the Bar Harbor workshop.

I have been working on the workshop adaptation of “Sublimity” though. With Alice’s and everyone’s comments, it has now turned into a novel. I have 14 skeleton chapters drafted out, but still have a long way to go with fleshing. I’m workshopping the extended novel version at JH this fall.

Hope all is well with you. What are you up to?
